I'm surprised no one has written a review for this book. I guess it just goes to show how people who speak the truth and happen to be Black are silenced. Anyway, this book is a must read for anyone who is into African history and truth, because as Dr. Diop says "The history of Africa will remain suspended in air until the African historian dares to connect it to the rest of Africa." I find this to be largely true, and since his work is so thorough and logical I cannot disagree with his works. The beginning of the book details his mission, and eventually divulges into the history of Kemet, Egypt, etc. and takes you through a whirlwind of photographical evidence, scientific data, archeological evidence, anthropological evidence and just plain common sense to explain something that is painfully obvious. I find it odd that his melanin test has been used on badly burned victims to detect their ethnic background successfully, but has not been used on Ancient African Mummies who have not been burned but still have traces of melanin or meloncytes in their skin? And yes their skin has been tampered by embalming chemicals BUT traces of the meloncytes exist UNDER the epidermis which is what he did. Reading just one of his books won't suffice to understand Africa in totality but this is where I recommend one starts. Furthermore, he does not portray himself to be a "racialist" as some have said, because he never ONCE assumes black superiority. In fact, he rejects that notion vehemently and instead says we all must come to the conclusion that the human race is just that, the human race and are all equal in capability and intelligence. However, he asserts that Black humans have done a considerable job in creating the world we know now. If that is to be interpreted as racialist by all people then there is no hope for all African people and their history. Myself being an African who lives in America finds it refreshing to see such bold, blatant, but sincere work done by another African from Senegal. If there was more than just good or bad for the rating system I would give it an excellent, or stellar, superb but I guess Good will suffice. Thanks for the email Vince by the way. Glad I could help.
