Valjeanne Jeffers was born in Tuskeegee, Alabama the first daughter of Lance and Trellie Jeffers. She is a graduate of Spelman College and is pursuing an MA at North Carolina Central University. She is also a member of the Carolina African American Writer’s Collective, and the online writing groups Black Science Fiction Society.com and Black Author Showcase.com.
Valjeanne writes poetry (under the pen name Valjeanne Jeffers-Thompson). Her poems have been featured in Revelry 2006, The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South 2007 and Drumvoices Revue 2007 and 2008. She was semi-finalist for The Rita Dove Poetry Award 2007, and her poetry and fiction have appeared in Pembroke Magazine 2007.
Valjeanne is also the author of the science fiction novel Immortal, the first of a three part saga. Immortal II: The Time of Legend is scheduled for release later this year.
